We will take walk-ins when we are here however we prioritize reservations and will not always be in the studio if we do not have a booking or are expecting clients while we are at our kids’ many practices, games and other family activities. If you are planning to drop in, give us a call or send a text to ensure we are here.
Is this a chain business?
Nope (although we have plans for future) we are family owned and operated.
We’re a family of 9 (my husband and I and our 7 children) so bear with us as we are our own team running the show, leading the art, answering the calls, sending the emails, designing the website and all the things involved in running a new and thriving business!
Splatter Room FAQs
-
The Splatter Room is a unique space in our art studio where you can unleash your creativity by flinging ,splashing and splattering paint onto canvases or other surfaces in a free-form and expressive way. Inspired by Jackson Pollack’s famous art style, Splatter Paint is a no skills necessary way to create truly unique abstract art!
-
Our Splatter Room is truly fun for all ages! We’ve had splatter artists from around 1 year olds all the way up to 94 years old! If you’re ok with that person and their age participating in the Splatter experience then we are too!
-
Each Splatter Room artist will receive:
(1) 11x14 canvas
(4) paint colors to choose from our color wall
a poncho, protective eyewear, and disposable shoe covers.
If you want to upgrade your booking to Glow Splatter, larger canvases, double paint, paint blasters, t-shirts, backpacks and more then you can add those on to your booking for a more customizable Splatter Room experience!
-
Yes, we provide a poncho, protective eyewear and disposable shoe covers for each Splatter Artist.
-
The ponchos typically stop around the knee but depending on how tall you are it may cover a little more or a little less than that. We definitely recommend wearing pants/shorts/bottoms you wouldn’t mind getting messy.
-
The protective shoe covers we provide will cover a portion of your shoes, however they do not completely cover the shoes. We recommend that you wear shoes you won’t mind getting messy or feel free to take your shoes off and wear the shoe covers over your socks/feet instead.
-
Yes we use nontoxic water based acrylic paint to create your splatter art with. We highly recommend that you try to avoid intentionally getting it in your eyes or mouth though just as an extra layer of protection.
-
The paint washes off of hair and skin fairly easily with just soap and water. We have restrooms in our wtudio so you can start the clean up process immediately after your splatter session. However, if your splatter session was extra messy, the rest of the paint you’re covered in washes off the next time you bathe.
Getting the paint out of your clothes is a different story. It will come out if you quickly rub soap and water on it but if the paint dries on the clothing then it might stain it. We highly recommend that you “dress for a mess” and wear clothes that you wouldn’t mind getting messy. Some guests will even bring a change of clothes and will change into the “messy clothes”, paint in the Splatter Room, and then change back into their regular clothes. This typically occurs when a birthday guest doesn’t want to mess up their special birthday outfit, a date night that plans to go out to eat after splattering, a playdate going to the park afterwards, etc.
-
The only part of the protective gear that we require you to wear is the protective eyewear for safety. Other than that, if you’re comfortable with the protective gear or not then that’s ok with us!
We have even had guests come into the splatter room intentionally wearing shirts, hoodies, pants, sweatpants, shoes, etc that they WANTED to get splattered! It always takes the Splatter Room experience up a notch. Word to the wise: if you choose not to wear the poncho and shoe covers then we recommend you also have a plan to cover your car seats ani floor mats afterwards.
-
If you’re accompanying a Splatter Room artist or artists and you aren’t going to paint, then no you won’t have to pay for yourself. You only pay for the people that are painting so if you’re just watching them paint then you don’t have to pay. We definitely still recommend that you “dress for a mess” in case you’re staying in the Spltter Room with them to.
-
We have multiple Splatter Rooms so when you book with your Splatter Room experience is yours! The rooms are closed with curtains so you can enjoy some privacy while you Splatter.
-
Each Splatter Room Booking includes an 11x14 canvas so you will be throwing paint at canvases or you can upgrade/add on larger canvases, t-shirts, drawstring. backpacks etc.
-
The splattered art takes approximately 24-48 hours to dry completely.
-
Your finished art will be placed in a box to help you transport it afterwards.
-
Let the shirt air dry completely for 24-48 hours. To wash the shirt, the shirt inside out in cold water.
-
With our Standard Splatter experience, you can choose 4 colors from our Color Wall to splatter with in our Splatter Room with standard lighting. Standard Splatter is what is included in our booking pricing.
Our Glow Splatter experience is in a darker room with a special blacklight and you are given 5 preselected neon colors to splatter with and is available as an upgraded booking option.
Both experiences are equally an amazing vibe and so much fun!
-
