Metallic Glittery Pumpkin
Transform a bright orange foam pumpkin into a chic glittery pumpkin instead? Umm, yes please!
Materials
Remember I said that this set of projects was riddled with “honest crafter moments” combined with pregnant mom brain? Yep, here’s another example of that: I totally whiffed on taking the materials pic BEFORE I painted the pumpkin (Let’s just pretend that the pumpkin is orange in this pic). The materials I used for this project are:
a totally not previously painted by accident foam pumpkin
glitter
glue
metallic paint (also not pictured)
Paint the Pumpkin
I was able to grab a screenshot of the spray paint I used from the video I took (insert sigh of relief here)
Paint the pumpkin with the metallic paint. I chose to use spray paint to have a quick yet saturated coat of paint applied. If you choose to use spray paint on the foam pumpkin, put a simple base coat of white acrylic paint on it first (see the pumpkin in the box). Doing this step stops the pumpkin from warping…trust me on this, I definitely learned the hard way. Click here if you want to see how that struggle turned out.
Quick tip
I always prefer to do my spray painting outside and in an old cardboard box. It saves me from cleaning up an overspray mess.
